District 54 is joining school districts across the nation in celebrating Digital Citizenship Week October 19-23. Each day at school next week, students will receive reminders with the goal of keeping themselves and others safe. The days are as follows:
Monday - Be Inclusive
This means you are open to hearing and respecting other people’s viewpoints. You also engage with others online with respect and empathy.
Tuesday - Be Informed
When you are online, make sure you evaluate the accuracy, perspective and trustworthiness of digital media and social media posts.
Wednesday - Be Engaged
Use technology to help others, solve problems and be a good community member when engaged online.
Thursday - Be Balanced
Make sure you balance your time and activities both on and offline.
Friday - Be Alert
Remember to always be aware how your decisions online affect others. Strive to be safe and create a safe space for others online.
