Mead Science Olympiad Team places  first in state competition

The Mead Science Olympiad Team placed first in the A division and seventh overall out of 39 teams at the state competition at the University of Illinois. Individual medals included:

Grace and Amanda – 2nd in Ecology, 3rd in Disease Detectives

Sachin and Sasha– 2nd in Food Science

Novi and Vijay– 2nd in Science Word and 1st in Reach for the Stars

Eric and Novi– 2nd in Oceanography

Avni and Meran– 1st in Bio Process, 3rd in Science Crimebusters

Evan and David – 2nd in Rocks and Minerals

Eric and Leo – 1st in Robo-cross

Sachin and Nick – 2nd in Anatomy

The team was only 10 points away from a fourth place finish overall. This group of students are from Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and Elk Grove Village.
